Wow, where would I be without September High School? Well, I guess I would be at (omitted) High School. And that place sucks. How am I going to do well in school if my teachers don't care about me? This was the problem for me at (omitted) High School. I felt like a number, not a person.
When I found September High School, I felt so lucky to have found such a great school—cool teachers, small classes, fun community. All of these things made September High School a great learning environment for me. My teachers motivate me to try. In fact, I motivate myself to try because I care about school now. It is interesting to me, and I enjoy learning. I had an average GPA of below 2.0 at (omitted) and now I am getting above a 3.0. My parents are proud of me, and I don't dread going to school any more.

Our son has always been a good student and well adjusted socially, so we weren't even considering the idea of him going to a different school, especially a private one. But during his first year of high school, his desire to go to school and his general lack of enthusiasm took a dive. When asked about his day, he had little to offer and was basically uninspired, even in subjects where he usually excelled. He came to us and said he needed a change for his sophomore year.
September High School has made a huge difference in all of our lives. Our son enjoys going to school and comes home full of information and stories about his day. We have lively dinner conversations based on something he learned or discussed at school. At September High School, he's learned how to be a critical thinker, to take responsibility for himself, and the importance of good communication and respectful relationships. He feels heard and appreciated by the teachers and staff at September High School, and because of the supportive environment there, he is inspired to do well.
